The Story:
Hyeon-ah (Jeon Se-Hong), is an aspiring actress that visits the South Korean countryside. When she stops to eat at a restaurant there in the countryside, she captivates Pan-gon (Moon Sung-keun), the 60 year old man who is the owner of the restaurant. The man then imprisons Hyeon-ah causing extreme terror upon her. Meanwhile, Hyeon-ah’s older sister, Hyeong Jeong (Chu Ja-Hyeon), ventures out to the country, looking for her sister. She uses her cellphone's GPS tracing system to find her whereabouts.She goes to the village and stops at the local police station for help. Because of the little evidence she has, the police refuse to offer help.
Hyeong-jeong then finds a witness who thinks she saw her missing sister near the home of an elderly man Pan-gon. When Hyeong-jeong eventually arrives at the elderly man's home, she is left by herself to search the shabby residence of Pan-gon, a psychopath who has raped and murdered three women, and feeds the ground-up parts of their bodies to his chickens. Her worst nightmares is about to begin.

The Story:
Song-hoon (Yang Ik-june) is a foul-mouthed extortionist and enforcer for local gangster Man-shik (Jeong Man-shik), Having grown up with a violent father who was responsible for the deaths of his mother and sister, Song-hoon now directs his own seemingly limitless store of violence toward enemies and subordinates alike. Things begin to change when he meets a similarly foulmouthed schoolgirl, Han Yeon-heui (Kim Gol-bi), Regularly victimized by her mentally ill father and thuggish brother, she’s not scared by Song-hoon's hard exterior. Slowly but surely, an unlikely bond develops between the two. But when Yeon-heui's brother Yeong-jae (Lee Hwan), joins Man-shik’s gang without his sister’s knowledge, it becomes clear that the crushing brutality of their environment may not allow the fragile emotional connection between them to survive. This often-brutal look at cyclical violence and how love might just redeem a lost soul is a semi-autobiographical story inspired by the director’s family and friends.

CHILDREN OF THE DARK (YAMI NO KODOMOTACHI) (Japanese)

The Story:
Nanbu (Yosuke Eguchi), a middle-aged Japanese journalist stationed in Thailand. Chasing a story about a rich Japanese couple planning to bring their son to Bangkok for a life-saving transplant using illegally obtained organs, Nanbu comes into contact with fellow expat Keiko (Aoi Miyazaki), an idealistic young foreign-aid worker helping at a child welfare center run by fiercely committed local woman Napapom (Prima Ratchata).


Info gathered from poor local families and Nanbu's shady contacts leads them to a brothel in the northern province of Chiang Rai, which supplies children for sex tourists and as "donors" of body parts. Pointedly, the establishment's pedophile customers are drawn from a wide range of nationalities.


The vision of life inside the brothel is heartbreaking. Victims are locked in filthy rooms and let out only when clients arrive; those with AIDS are thrown into garbage trucks while still alive.

The Story:
James Hoyt (Scott Speedman) and his girlfriend Kristen McKay (Liv Tyler) arrive at the vacation house owned by James' parents upon returning from a friend's wedding reception. It is shown through flashbacks that prior to their arrival James had proposed marriage to Kristen only to be rejected. Once James calls his best friend Mike to be picked up, he and Kristen feel that in the morning they will likely take some time apart.


Their gloomy evening takes a shocking turn for the worst when they receive a visitor at 4 a.m. looking for someone named “Tamra.” Even after telling the young girl that shows up at their doorstep that there is no one at the cabin by that name, the girl returns later that night with another girl and man, who begin to bang on the door, peer into the house, and creep around the vicinity.

Soon, James and Kristen realize that if they are going to survive the night, they will have to stay one step ahead of their assailants all while being trapped in a house with no connection to the outside world.

The Story:
A young girl named Lucie (Mylène Jampanoï) is found running half-naked down a country road after having been missing for over a year. During this time she had been held captive and subjected to a steady regimen of torture, both mental and physical, before she was able to to make her escape. Officials are able to locate the abandoned slaughter house she had been imprisoned in, but aside from evidence to support her claims, the building had been evacuated and her abusers were never apprehended.


Lucie is placed in an orphanage where she eventually forms a bond with another young girl who resides there, the persistent Anna (Morjana Alaoui). Fifteen years later Lucie and Anna have remained together and Lucie thinks she has located two of her initial captors via a picture in a newspaper. With Anna warily in tow, Lucie pays a visit to the couples home with a loaded shotgun. She hopes by exacting some revenge that she will be exorcising a creature that plagues her, a creature in the form of a girl she left behind at the slaughterhouse and who takes delight in cutting Lucie to shreds at any opportune moment.

The Story:
The stroke of midnight sets the stage for terror when four vacationing coeds turn the tables on a group of depraved backwoods miscreants. A relaxing afternoon of skinny-dipping in the lake gets the weekend off to a good start, though things take a turn for the worse when Caleb, Palmer, Fred, and Sir Jim unexpectedly show up at the cabin looking for a raunchy good time. Just as things start to get ugly in the cabin, veteran detective Jake (Tim Thomerson) and his rookie partner, Ray (Michael Esparza), stumble into a ritualistic alter while investigating a bloody basement crime scene. Upon finding a newspaper clipping about a mysterious cabin, they race to the country to find another clue. But at this point the clock has just struck midnight, and things are just getting interesting out at the cabin. It seems that the girls have somehow managed to gain the upper hand against their attackers. Have Ilene and company accomplished this by simply outsmarting Sir Jim and the boys, or could it be that these outwardly timid coeds actually possess a deadly and diabolical secret?

The Story:
On this night, the demon (or fallen angel if you prefer) gathers up five random men and leaves them bound and blindfolded in an underground parking facility where they are forced to play games for their lives. When one loses, a solitary reel-to-reel projector plays their darkest sin on the wall for all the others to see before he is finally "sacrificed".Ryan (Michael Eklund), one of men randomly selected by the demon, manages to get out of the parking garage with the help of a cryptic janitor named Joe (Ron Sauve). Ryan immediately departs for the police station and begins to tell his story to Detective Porhowski (Sara-Jane Redmond) who is clearly skeptical of the whole thing. She orders that prints be taken from Ryan's cigarette pack and when she comes back, he's vanished only to re-appear again inside her car. He explains that the deal for his release was that he needed to bring her back to the parking garage, so he forces her at gunpoint to drive them both back.During her on-scene investigation, Porhowski encounters the janitor who she discovers to be far less benevolent than he originally appears. As it turns out, she has a dark secret as well which is revealed toward the end of the film.

At his mother's behest, his father finds him a job, but Mesrine is more intrigued by the "off the books work" his friend Paul (Gilles Lellouche) does for local crime boss Guido (Gérard Depardieu), and the lifestyle it affords: poker parties, prostitutes, convertibles. A few bald-faced burglaries and pimp smackdowns later, Mesrine finds himself married, wealthy, and in jail.

The Story:

The Story:
Author Arlen Faber (Jeff Daniels), a cranky recluse who wrote a best-selling spirituality book titled Me and God twenty years earlier. His book inspired an entire generation with its insightful answers about his personal relationship with God.Since then, Arlen has refused all the typical author duties such as book tours, public appearances, and sequels, despite the pleadings of his literary agent (Nora Dunn). Instead, Arlen lives alone and listens to self-help tapes, practices yoga, and reads books on enlightenment trying to answer his own questions about life. When each new attempt to find inner peace fails, Arlen experiences fits of rage and attempts to destroy or otherwise rid himself of the defective merchandise.

Fed up with a series of self-help books that didn’t help him, Arlen attempts to sell the books at The Book Trader, a bookstore near his home in Philadelphia. He tries various ploys to unload the books there, but meets continued resistance from Kris (Lou Taylor Pucci), the shop’s owner, and his assistant (Kat Dennings) The store lacks the money to buy any books since Kris’s recent stint at rehab. While lifting the stack of refused books, Arlen’s old back injury flares up and goes into complete spasm soon afterward.Arlen’s back injury leads him to Elizabeth (Lauren Graham), a sweet chiropractor and single mother, who just opened her office in recent weeks. He literally crawls on his hands and knees to her office from his home, a gesture symbolic of his own desperation to have his prayers answered. They start a shaky romance, which gets derailed by Arlen’s ongoing crankiness and personality problems. Likewise, his bizarre relationship with the bookstore owner waxes and wanes seemingly without warning.

The Story:
Faced with a mysterious outbreak of blindness, governmental authorities quarantine the affected individuals in an abandoned mental hospital. As more patients arrive each day, the hospital cannot properly accommodate them, and systems begin to break down—food is scarce, toilets are backed up, and the dead lay unburied. The nightmare grows worse when a rebellious inmate (Gael García Bernal) resorts to unspeakable violence to take control of the hospital and the food rations for himself.


Fortunately for the other victims, when a level headed doctor (Mark Ruffalo) is sent to the hospital after losing his vision, his devoted wife (Julianne Moore) refuses to leave his side and sneaks into the facility despite still having her sight. Together, they lead the other in fighting back with every ounce of strength they can muster to break free of this hellish imprisonment and journey back into the world; a journey that leads them away from mankind’s worst appetites and weaknesses into a world where they hope to once again discover the spirit of human decency that has been lost for so long.

The Story:
The film centers around the misadventures of professional body snatchers Willis Grimes (Larry Fessenden) and Arthur Blake (Dominic Monaghan), who begin to steal supernatural bodies at the behest of a sinister doctor (Angus Scrimm).Grimes is executed for his crimes in the opening of the movie and Blake has only hours before suffering the same fate, although he’s forced to undergo a pre-execution interview with a coarse-talking priest (Ron Perlman).

Blake first sets out telling how he met Grimes and the very beginning of their jobs as grave robbers. Then he begins to tell different random stories that all have a common link to one another. So will Blake make it out alive? Or will he follow in his friends footsteps and end up on the chopping block?

The Story:

The Story:
Based on the Jodi Picoult novel, My Sister's Keeper is a drama following Sara (Cameron Diaz) and Brian (Jason Patric) whose daughter, Kate (Sofia Vassilieva),is diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of two. The only hope to keep Kate alive is to conceive another child, specifically intended to save her life. Their second daughter, Anna (Abigail Breslin), is genetically conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate.
Throughout their young lives, the united sisters endure medical procedures and hospital stays as Anna supplies transfusions for Kate. But the strained, close-knit family is rocked when Anna, now 11, says 'no'. She hires a lawyer (Alec Baldwin) and initiates a court case demanding the rights to use her body as she wants.

The Story:
Lorna (Arta Dobroshi) an Albanian, living in Belgium; she's entered a marriage of convenience with Claudy (Jeremie Renier) that's not actually convenient at all, as Claudy's a junkie who's trying to quit; his needs and demands hang heavy on her. But then Lorna has a meeting with Fabio (Fabrizio Rongione), and things take a very different turn, as he explains that they have to be sure that Claudy's death looks like an accident. ...Once Lorna's a Belgian by virtue of her marriage, we come to learn, the expectation is that Claudy will be removed from the picture and Lorna will marry a Russian gangster so he can have the same Belgian citizenship rights Lorna gained by marrying Claudy. Lorna, working towards the modest dream of opening a snack bar with her boyfriend Sokol (Alban Ukaj), is playing along -- to a point. She thinks she can make a divorce happen without anyone getting hurt (or, rather, with only herself getting hurt; Lorna's plan to speed up the divorce proceedings is a harsh one), earning her money and marrying the Russian without Claudy having to die. Claudy knows that Lorna's married him for an end -- he's been paid once, and expects to be paid again after the divorce but he doesn't know about the Russian, or how the plan involves his demise expediting matters.
