Taylor Peters (Matthew Broderick) is a television writer and producer working on a low-rated, little-respected half-hour sitcom. Unexpectedly, Taylor and Lorraine are called to Lorraine's sisterĂ‚’s house to deal with a family emergency: Taylor's twenty-year-old niece Amanda (Brittany Snow) is living in Las Vegas where, it's been recently discovered, she's working as a prostitute. On their way home, Lorraine finds racing stubs in the glove compartment, and decides to leave Taylor. Lorraine decides not to come home.

He promises to find her, bring her back, and pay for her stay at an expensive rehab center. Once in Nevada, Taylor starts gambling in earnest using money loaned him by the casino.

Once finally locating Amanda, after a few games at the tables, Taylor learns that she is making numerous amounts of money and shows no signs of being unhappy, even with her questionable boyfriend Greg (Peter Facinelli). The Story:
Connections made and missed form the foundation of this drama following the journeys of eight haunted Londoners in search of redemption.

Jim (Tamer Hassan) is throwing watermelons off of a rooftop in preparation for a possible suicide when he spies Sammy (MyAnna Buring) standing on an adjacent rooftop. She, too, is pondering a fatal plunge, and when Jim catches up to her they attempt to find another way out than straight down.

Meanwhile, Sue's ex-boyfriend Dean (Ray Panthaki) has hit a creative slump. His paintings panned and his poetry eviscerated by critics, Dean is in search of a muse when he meets Gina (Susan Lynch), the experimental prostitute who lives next door. But Gina doesn't come free for anyone, and Dean quickly discovers that getting a new muse can go both ways. In the wake of a past fling with Dean, Olly (Kenny Doughty) is wrestling with his sexual identity.

Assigned the task of watching after his deaf-mute brother Chris (James Lance) for the day, Olly discovers that sibling is completely comfortable with his own homosexuality, and the duo set out on a quest through London's gay community in order to help Chris lose his virginity.

On those very same streets walks Pete (Danny Dyer), a tormented former drug addict with many secrets. Carol (Natasha Williams) watches Pete's every move from afar, hoping that he will eventually lead her to her long lost son, a man Pete used to know back in his violent drug days. Over time Pete opens up to Carol, and the pair sets out into the darkness in search of her son. Their journey will be treacherous, but Pete realizes that the risk of death is well worth one last shot at true redemption.

K N O W I N G

The Story:
Lexington, Massachusetts in 1959, where a competition is held among the students of a new elementary school to celebrate its opening. The winning plan, from student Lucinda Embry, a seemingly mental disorder/mentally disturbed girl, is to bury a time capsule containing the students' drawings of the future to be opened 50 years later in 2009. She is prevented from finishing her image, which is actually a series of seemingly random numbers, and goes missing during the ceremony. Her teacher later finds her in a gym closet, frantically scratching the remaining numbers into the door.

Caleb (Chandler Canterbury) receives Lucinda's envelope containing the system of numbers. Initially dismissing them as random numbers, John notices a single random number sequence, 911012996, which contains the date of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacksWorld Trade Center attacks as well as the death toll of the attack. Further research leads John to realise the numbers are a list contain the dates and death tolls of every major disaster, natural and man made, that has happened over the past 50 years, with three that have not occurred yet.

When a commercial plane crash kills 81, the legitimacy of the list of numbers is confirmed and leading John to believe that Lucinda had an ability to prognosticate since childhood until she died. After Caleb receives a vision of future global catastrophe from a silent man, John tries to contact the late Lucinda's daughter, Diana (Rose Byrne), to gain more information, but is rebuffed. But when John also predicts the second event, a subway train crash, Diana and her daughter, Abby (Lara Robinson), visit John and Caleb, and Diana reveals that her mother foretold of the date of her death would be on October 19th, which is also within the list.

John realizes that the last disaster on the code is the end of the world when one of the Sun's solar flares will scorch the Earth.
