J'AI TOUJOURS REVE D'ETRE UN GANGSTER

J' AI TOUJOURS REVE D' ETRE UN GANGSTER ( I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A GANGSTER) (French)

The Story:
A French motorway diner forms the backdrop to the four interconnecting stories.

Story (1): Franck (Edouard Baer) botching a hold-up at the diner; the waitress Suzie (Anna Mouglalis), however, takes pity on him and shares her own story. She reveals that she too had considered robbing the place until getting disheartening peak at the anemic cash register.

Story (2): Two incompetent kidnappers Leon (Bouli Lanners) and Paul (Serge Lariviere) snatch a teenage girl Malaury (Selma El Mouissi), from her rich family but, unfortunately for them, she is suicidal and her family don’t want her back.

Story (3): Two ageing French rock stars (Alain Bashung and Arno playing themselves) who meet by chance and discuss their careers over a meal at the diner.

Story (4): Four former gangsters smuggle an old friend out of the hospital for a nostalgic trip to their former hideout, only to discover that the familiar log cabin has long since been razed and replaced with a modest diner that provides no means for lying low.

As many characters, as many different destinies, though led more by accident and mistake than by grand design. But due to a love affair that links their fates, they finally manage to catch a glimpse of a better future.

Hurt, confused and lonely, Katrien is susceptible to Simon’s infatuation and sexual tension ignites.

WAZ

The Story:
In New York, grizzled detective Eddie (Stellan SkarsgÄrd) is working with rookie Helen (Melissa George) on a series of grisly murders. The bodies have been carved with the letters W-delta-Z, which turns out to be part of a genetic survival theory being studied by a creepy scientist (Paul Kaye).

The killings are clearly not random, tracing back to a vicious assault on a woman (Selma Blair) by a group of thugs (Ashley Walters, Tom Hardy and Sally Hawkins) who all walked free. And Eddie seems to be a bit too connected to them.

Stellan Skarsgard, Melissa George, Selma Blair, Ashley Walters, John Sharian, Larry Cowan, Tom Hardy, Sally Hawkins, Paul Kaye, Sheila Kerr, Michael Liebman, Roy McManus, Igor Smiljevic, Michael Wildman

Tom Shankland
